THURSDAY, JUNE 7 • 7PM Laudate Homeschool Orchestra looks forward to leading you on an exciting musical adventure as they present our 2018 Spring Semester Repertoire. Two pieces by Austrian Anton Bruckner: March in D Minor is an experiment in tension–teasing the listener with resolve that plunges back into uncertainty, pausing mid-point for a serene trio. Overture in G Minor An exciting discovery of the unexpected, leading the orchestra through peaceful meadows then down rocky cliffs with suspense, pathos, wild winds and sudden calm. Through Italian composer Giovanni Gabrieli (1555-1612) we discover the unique “Venetian style” — compositions for multiple choirs to perform in tandem from varying balconies throughout a cathedral. =LHO will replicate this style by dividing into three instrumental choirs and positioning throughout the performance hall for Gabrieli’s Latin anthems of praise. Thursday, January 18, 2017 – 7PM – Come enjoy the Laudate Homeschool Orchestra, as they present a classical winter concert. Free and open to the public, no tickets required. Concert features the following: A savory taste of the Slavic countryside with four peppy Slavonic Dances by Czech immigrant Antonin Dvorak. A brand new composition custom-composed for LHO by musician, composer and pastor Michael Shawn Carbaugh II. Conducted by Mr. Carbaugh. A quirky three-part Sonatine for Woodwinds by Toshi Nagata, an amateur composer and arranger living in Nagoya, Japan. Featuring the singular tones of bassoon, oboe, flute and clarinet. Several warm hymn arrangements by our rich and resonant brass quartet, comprised of baritone horns, trombone and trumpet. […]

Evening of Piano & Flute on February 10th

Saturday, February 10, 2018 — An Evening with Piano and Flute featuring a variety of romantic, classical selections.   Tara Lesco performs as piano soloist and accompanist in the Hartford and New Haven areas. She has played in the pit orchestras of several musicals, including Pippin, West Side Story, and Jekyll and Hyde. She has served as accompanist for a touring company performing throughout the United States and Europe. In addition to performing, Tara has spent many years involved in music therapy programs across CT and has served as a music director, as well as a worship leader in several churches. Tara holds B.Mus and M.M. degrees from The Hartt School in Music History and Piano Performance, respectively. She has studied with the late Susan Tannenbaum, Watson Morrison, and Paul Rutman. She teaches piano at Neighborhood Music School in New Haven and in her own private studio in Wallingford.  Tricia Macaboy Blanks is a Sr. Administrative Assistant at Kaman Precision Products, a Division of Kaman Aerospace, in Middletown, CT. She grew up in Hamden, CT and currently lives in Wallingford with her husband, Ray, and has two grown daughters, Katelyn and Emily. Tricia has been playing the flute for over […]
