Still a little time to enjoy summer!

Hard to believe the summer of 2019 is almost over! Families are cramming in last days of vacation, stores are bringing in the fall (and Christmas holiday) decorations, retirees are living life to the fullest with a full plate of activities to keep them happy and engaged!

Just in case you’re looking for somethings a little extra special here are some local suggestions:

  1. Eat Breakfast with the Governor
    The Cheshire Chamber of Commerce is hosting a special breakfast with Connecticut Governor, Ned Lamont. If you’re interested in interacting with other small-business owners, then mark your calendar for August 29th at Monticello (577 S.Broad St Meriden, CT)

  2. Use your musical abilities!
    Call for new voices! The New Haven Chorale is eagerly seeking new members in all vocal sections. Auditions for the 2019-2020 season will be held Thursday, August 29 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 7 from 11:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 450 Whitney Ave., New Haven, CT., and by scheduling an individual appointment with the music director at a mutually agreeable time thereafter.

  3. Observe the Hot Air Balloon Festival
    The 2019 Plainville Fire Company’s Hot Air Balloon Festival will be held August 24th and 25th at Norton Park in Plainville, Connecticut. Each year the attendance of Balloonist has increased. There is no entrance fee and the entire event is free. There will be arts, crafts and food vendors throughout the weekend.
  4. Explore the Hungarian Festival
    Learn more about Hungarian culture and enjoy some authentic food, folk dancing and music! All happening Sunday, September 8, 2019
  5. Enjoy the Cheshire Fall Festival
    This September, the Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the town of Cheshire, will bring the community together to support our local businesses, crafters, farms, orchards, and local non-profits. The celebration begins on “Food Truck Friday” September 13th and continues to Saturday, September 14th at Bartlem Park in the heart of our town.
