DESCRIPTION:The “Wild Fire Short Plays” brought to you by Nelson Hall\, is a collection of 10-15 minute shows meant to bring you back in to the theatre virtually. Our title show\, “Wildfires” focuses on the bond of two brothers in the middle of a tough conversation while at a simple campfire. “The Harsh Reality of Dating a Poet\,” a returning show at our theatre\, follows the relationship of a couple as things begin to crumble because Freddie has been using their private emotions and moments as inspiration for his art. This play is a short musical featuring three songs that will surely stick with you. The final show of the evening is\, “A Sleep and a Forgetting.” The title is taken from a poem by William Wordsworth that says life is but sleep and forgetting. A somber idea\, certainly\, but\, this play is a goofy take on the phrase with two people waking up on a boat with no memory of how they got there. Still performing with them to this day. A couple of their famous hits “Chapel of Dreams” that rose to #74 on the charts. “Could This Be Magic” In 1957\, this song peaked at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100\, and has become a classic. It is a fine example of great Doo wop vocal harmonies and romantic themes. \nIrvingLewis\nA veteren in lead vocals for 30 years Irving Lewis a “front man” performed with a Rock and Roll group then called\n“The Victorians\, originated in 1982 and ended in 2000 sharing the stage with celebrities such a Gloria Gaynor\, the Temptations \, and the Drifters to name a few. DESCRIPTION:“Virtuosos on clarinet and saxophone” (New York Times)\, Grammy-winning identical twins and Juilliard grads Peter and Will Anderson hail from Bethesda\, Maryland.  They’ve performed with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra\, Vanguard Jazz Orchestra\, Wycliffe Gordon\, Cecile McLorin Salvant\, Paquito D’Rivera\, Wynton Marsalis\, and can be heard on the 2014 Grammy-winning soundtrack of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire with Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks.  They’ve headlined at The Blue Note\, Kennedy Center\, New Orleans Jazz Festival\, and live on Garrison Keillor’s Prairie Home Companion Radio Program.\n \n         On Saturday\, March 7th\, the Andersons will present “Benny Meets Artie” at Nelson Hall.  They will explore the lives and music of two American cultural icons\, clarinetists Benny Goodman & Artie Shaw\, with their jazz sextet featuring vocalist Molly Ryan\, as well as an informative narrative and entertaining video presentation.  Songs will include swing era hits “Sing\, Sing\, Sing\,” “Begin the Beguine\,” “Stardust\,” and “Moonglow.”  Raised in poverty in Chicago\, Benny Goodman was a classical clarinet prodigy who soon sparked an international swing craze in the 1930s\, and premiered the first jazz concert at Carnegie Hall in 1938.  Artie Shaw was a composer\, author\, and master clarinetist\, pushing musical boundaries by blending American swing with European and Latin styles.

A publicity stunt hatched by Birdie’s manager\, Albert Peterson\, to ensure he survives his only client’s departure.  Featuring a tuneful high-energy score with favorites including\, “Put on a Happy Face”\, “One Last Kiss”\, and “A Lot of Livin’ to Do”.
