WildFire Short Plays (Online, Free)

The “Wild Fire Short Plays” brought to you by Nelson Hall, is a collection of 10-15 minute shows meant to bring you back in to the theatre virtually. Our title show, “Wildfires” focuses on the bond of two brothers in the middle of a tough conversation while at a simple campfire. “The Harsh Reality of Dating a Poet,” a returning show at our theatre, follows the relationship of a couple as things begin to crumble because Freddie has been using their private emotions and moments as inspiration for his art. This play is a short musical featuring three songs that will surely stick with you. The final show of the evening is, “A Sleep and a Forgetting.” The title is taken from a poem by William Wordsworth that says life is but sleep and forgetting. A somber idea, certainly, but, this play is a goofy take on the phrase with two people waking up on a boat with no memory of how they got there. 12 Angry Jurors – To Be Rescheduled

In 12 Angry Jurors by Reginald Rose, following the closing arguments in a murder trial, the twelve members of the jury must deliberate, with a guilty verdict meaning death for the accused, an inner-city teen. As the dozen jurors try to reach a unanimous decision while sequestered in a room, one juror casts considerable doubt on elements of the case. Personal issues soon rise to the surface, and conflict threatens to derail the delicate process that will decide one boy’s fate. Bye Bye Birdie by St. Peter’s Players and Drama Camp

St. Peter’s Players and Drama Camp is an intergenerational theater group for teens and adults with a theater camp for ages 9-14. The cast is composed of members of St. Peter’s Church, Cheshire and members of the surrounding communities. Set in in the 1960’s, Conrad Birdie, America’s rock-n-roll heartthrob, is drafted in the U.S. Army, heads to small town America where he will publicly kiss teen fan Kim McAffee. A publicity stunt hatched by Birdie’s manager, Albert Peterson, to ensure he survives his only client’s departure.
